However, just as with any other timber exposed to the weather and UV light it will degrade and take on a silvery grey hue over time - this eventually happens to pressure treated timber just the same as with bare, untreated timber. As time passes not only does your decking discolour but it gathers dirt and can suffer a build-up of moss and algae, with decking covered with algae also becoming a significant safety risk as it is often as slippery as an ice rink when wet which makes even walking on it a difficult task. Even decking treated with stains and sealants will eventually look tired and can accumulate dirt, algae and moss.
